Jordan's Visit
"I got a great Idea" is pretty much all my younger brother told me when he planned to head south to come "hang out" this evening. Well I knew something was up and for the two days that I knew about him coming down, wondered at what scheme had come up with that would need him to come talk to me face to face and not so much over the internet or over the phone.
He got down here sometime after 5pm, a full 30 plus minutes after the expected time for him to arrive complaining in his own words "[He] had to go 'ninja' to get there" due to some construction closure of an exit on the freeway. I was not really sure what the hell he was talking about. And had him discuss for a few minutes what that meant.
Upon asking him what his idea was that he just had to come see about he simply indicated that he had talked to Jared, the brother he is currently living with, and had concluded that it wasn't feasible to do. [I must note the issue dealt with legality of the idea]. Which I just had to comment on. In the intervening time, couldn't he pick up the phone or instant message me with that so I didnt wonder what the hell he was wanting to talk about.
The end result we went out to eat at a now "sub-par" restaurant and tried to think of a movie to watch or something to do. When we came up with nothing after an hour or so of trying we talked for a while in front of my place before he headed back north and I went to study some more. But I needed to take the time out of studying to give the comment: Give a person warning.
Mainly I think a heads up to why Jordan was coming down and to the change of plans would have been helpful in planning what we could have done as well as not wasted as much time as we did trying to think up of something to do besides eat mexican food at that restaurant.
Needless to say, it was fun hanging out with Jordan for a few hours. It helped break up the entire get done with a single final and then start working on the next final that needed to be done.
