Floor Hockey - Tournament Game 1

It was tournament game 1 for us. It was good. It looked bleak for the first little while. We didnt have about 4 of the people who said would be there and on top of that we were beating ourselves.

I say that because we did a good job of playing our positions but our ball handling skills need to be worked on a little. It was a good game. Cori pulled a nice foul and I say that because she ended up pushing a guy and ran towards the ball to have the guy come yell at her and the refs and have the refs give him the 2 minute penalty. Shortly thereafter Josh came up with a Boarding penalty when a guy knocked him over the tables.

Other events of the night was Mike Ulrich getting a bad slashing call for going for the ball and having the refs call slashing although the stick stayed below the knees and they were going for the ball. He ended with a 5 minute penalty.

We worked well, in sudden death overtime we worked hard getting the ball to the goal but no luck at getting it into the goal. At 1:30 to play Phil Wensel got a pushing called on him. So we played a man down and prevented the other team scoring.

It went to shoot out. First shots were missed [John hitting his high, the opposing team hitting wide]. Phil took a nice shot and score with a miss from the other team. Josh took his shot and missed [a little short] the other team was blocked when Ashley dove forwards as the guy shot.

The game was a win (3-3 with a 1-0 shoot out).

We are alive for another round. We play Team Canada next. Lets us hope we can old.

Floor Hockey - Game 5

It was week 5 of the floor hockey session.

No sticks broken, only a blood bath. It was bad.

Floor Hockey - Game 4

It was week 4 of the floor hockey session.

So in the stick department for those who are keeping track. Josh one of the star players on the team, and one of the left-handed goofy people playing, broke his own stick early in the game. So we held to our stick per game policy. Although I did note that I was missing a right handed stick and then with Nels breaking the shatter stick from 2 weeks ago again we can call it a total loss. Carter ended up in goal and did well, but man those balls are quick.

The game was a loss (7-3). After this last ame the Pirates are 1-3.

Next game for us is Friday the 16th @ 9:20pm in 134 RB.

Floor Hockey - Game 3

It was week 3 of the floor hockey session.

The Game started late as one of the sets of goalie gear left the floor without anyone noticing. It was pretty bad, but did give us a chance to warm up.

We have been breaking a stick a game and this week was no different. Carter on a sweet slap shot broke the blade of one of the sticks. It was a sweet deal, the broken piece went further than the ball ended up going.

But to the game itself, it was a loss (4-1). But what can you expect playing a bunch of Canadians. After Thursdays game the Pirates are 1-2.

Next game for us is Thurday the 8th @ 9:20pm in 134 RB.
