Mid-week moments

Rainy weather today means that I couldn’t take my normal lunch and go read on the grass for a couple of hours today. I really hate being indoors without windows all day. It begins to eat on my nerves.

Well besides suffering thru the rainy weather, I have taken a new level of hatred to Nels’ dog. I came home for lunch today, more to take a nap and painkillers, and found that the dog [named Cerrruh, pronounced sarah] had peed four times in the kitchen and hall. I wasn’t happy to see that, in reality I don’t see why the dog is not put into its kennel upon Nels departure everyday. It is something to bring up. So I took the time to clean up the pee spots. I hate that dog. After cleaning up the last one, the dog who had had its nose rubbed in each one, walks up next to me as I am getting up and squats, pees and tries to run away. I grabbed it, slapped its nose and then rubbed it into the pee. I hate that dog. So upon throwing it into its kennel, I cleaned up my fifth pee spot and laid down. I needed it so bad.

I got up after about 45 minutes of lying flat on my back and put on my long trench coat to head back to campus in the rain.

Work has been interesting the last few weeks as I am getting a couple of course management systems up and running so that the department can decide on something other than Blackboard. The last few days have been directed at getting a second installation of Moodle up so that we can have two sandboxes for people to mess up. My job in this affair is simply to get things up and running. I do a good job of that.

Well that is about the extent of the fun of work, install software, configure, push out to the department network, and repeat. I am told that in the next couple of days I might be restoring sandboxes as people are developing on them. Fun is all I can think of.

Most evening I have to myself, which means I am reading a lot. I am working down a list of great literary classics. Spent a couple days reading Pride and Prejudice, which was more fun than I last remember reading it, but now I am jumping ship to Les Miserables. I have read it before, but I forget how much Hugo liked to spend describing things. Therefore my two week estimate has been out the door and I am trying to get thru it. Every time I start reading I can only get a chapter or two at a time before I am overly bored with it. So that is what I get. I am already looking forward to the next book on my list to read.

Recently my Bishop made a couple of comments to me about dating. Well it was more to it than that, it was more to who I should be dating in his opinion and not dating. I sat there and in the initial reaction was ‘water off a ducks back,’ but as I have been blessed with plenty of opportunity to think and to examine what I am going to be doing. I feel that maybe he had a point with his comments earlier, but I am not going to be telling him that anytime soon.
